HIGHLIGHTS

 

  1. The yield on the 10-year Indonesia Government Bond edged down to 7.224% on 11 August 2026, from 7.226% in the previous trading session. Meanwhile, the 10-year US Treasury yield fell by 2 bps to 4.70% yesterday.
  2. Trading activity in the government bond market totaled IDR32.55 trillion, down from IDR37.60 trillion in the previous session, with transactions primarily concentrated in short-tenor bonds (less than five years). Trading volume remained below the year-to-date (YTD) daily average of IDR49.43 trillion. Meanwhile, outright transactions increased to IDR20.37 trillion, compared with IDR16.60 trillion in the prior trading session.
  3. In the corporate bond market, total trading volume increased to IDR8.29 trillion from IDR7.13 trillion in the previous session, with activity continuing to be dominated by short-tenor bonds (less than five years). Trading volume remained well above the YTD daily average of IDR3.31 trillion. Outright transactions also increased to IDR7.99 trillion, up from IDR7.08 trillion in the previous session.
  4. In the currency market, the Indonesian Rupiah depreciated by 0.44% against the US Dollar to IDR17,840/USD, from IDR17,762/USD in the previous session. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) declined 1.53%, closing at 6,268 from 6,365. In the commodity market, Brent crude rose to USD89.91 per barrel from USD87.72, while WTI Cushing Crude Oil Spot increased to USD84.48 per barrel from USD82.13.

 

DOMESTIC UPDATES

 

  1. Government Sukuk Auction. The Government of Indonesia's Government Sharia Securities (SBSN) auction held on 11 August 2026 attracted total incoming bids of IDR39.08 trillion, significantly higher than the IDR24.88 trillion recorded in the previous auction on 28 July 2026. The PBS030 series received the highest demand, attracting IDR8.67 trillion in bids with a submitted yield range of 6.96%–7.20%. This was followed by SPNS12042027, which received IDR7.74 trillion in bids at a yield range of 7.00%–7.15%, while PBS040 attracted IDR6.87 trillion in bids with a yield range of 6.96%–7.20%. The Government awarded a total of IDR12 trillion, exceeding its indicative issuance target of IDR10 trillion. As a result, the auction recorded a bid-to-cover ratio of 3.26x. (MoF)
  2. Indonesia’s retail sales contracted 3.0% YoY in June 2026, easing from a 3.9% decline in May and marking the mildest contraction since April. The improvement was supported by initial government measures to cushion household purchasing power. Performance remained mixed, with food, beverages and tobacco falling 3.6% yoy, clothing 3.1%, and information and communication equipment 20.2%. Meanwhile, household equipment rebounded 2.8%, while automotive parts surged 18.8%. On a monthly basis, retail sales grew 0.7%, marking the first increase in three months and suggesting tentative stabilization in consumer demand. (Bank Indonesia)
