DOMESTIC UPDATES

  1. The Federal Reserve held its benchmark interest rate steady at 3.75–4.00% following its October meeting, with two FOMC members dissenting in favor of a 25 bps hike. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh reiterated his opposition to forward guidance, arguing that signaling the future policy path is generally unnecessary under normal economic conditions, particularly given the economy’s current strength, although he acknowledged its usefulness during crises. Meanwhile, the Fed will retain eight annual meetings from 2027, with one dedicated exclusively to broader monetary policy strategy. In 2028, two meetings will focus on strategic discussions, while the remaining six will center on policy decisions. (CNBC)
